Shade and shadow
Green canopy
Swaying
Cool breeze

Not for me

My deep desire
Squashed into shadow
For soft and still
And quiet are

Not for me

Twisted into tension
Superiority
Outrun, outpace
While others rest

Not for me

One day I see
Shade, dark and sweet
A nap
A daydream

Waiting for me
